StickJacket
What size Stick Jacket do you need?
Stick Jacket are available in four diameters. Selecting the correct size sleeve for your fishing rods starts with knowing your options.
Stick Jacket rod socks come in four circumferences. Many anglers will know from experience the size they require. If you are shopping for an angler in your life, knowing the circumference and length is a good start to ordering the correct size.
Use a tape measure or strip of paper to measure the circumference around your rod blank and line guide.
Compare your measurement to the circumference illustration and select the cover for your rod.
Now all you need is the length.
We recommend the length you select should cover all the line guides and leave room for a fishing lure connected to your hook keeper. Stick Jackets come in 24, 66, 72, 78 & 84 inch lengths nominally. Please note: Not all lengths are available in all circumferences.
The trumpet end is best if it falls between the last line guide and forgrip.

Stick Jacket Tames the Tangle™
Stick Jacket is the original. From the start in 2004, our goal was to make a fishing rod sleeve that anglers will use in the boat, walking down to the dock or storing rods in the garage. We taught the world how easy it was to protect your valuable fishing rods and look good doing it.
Design Considerations
Our trumpet end is cuffed and set with heat. This maximizes the opening for fast and smooth clearance over large line guides. Cuffs that are not pressed or flipped to the outside will catch on lines guides more frequently.
Fishing Lasso for your sticks
Our Rod Lassos™ are available for users that want to lock the Stick Jacket on their rods. During design testing, we found that built in retaining straps are more likely to tangle with other rods and treble hooks. This leads to angler frustration and lost fishing time.
Plug Jackets for lure
Our Plug Jacket™ is the last defense against rod tangles. Highly recommended for treble hook lures, our Plug Jacket™ keeps those treble hooks from tangling your sticks.
Our breathable braided material is far superior to cloth and neoprene fishing rod covers. It will not mold or mildew and unlike cloth or neoprene fishing rod socks, our sleeving will not de-laminate your rods due to trapped moisture and heat.
The Original Stick Jacket® – Featured Colors
The Original Stick Jackets® are a product of Orin Briant, INC. Established in 2004, Stick Jacket is the original rod cover that taught everyone how to Tame the Tangle™.
This spring, our featured colors include 2108-Contusion, 2109-Sumthin’ Slipry, 2110-Twisted Craw & 2111-Bayou Boogie.
Stick Jacket designers spend long hours developing new colors to protect & show-off your fishing rods. Our “Contusion” Stick Jacket features a diamond pattern in repeating shades of blue, grape and red. Each diamond is set off with a fine line of black.
When we came up with “Sumthin’ Slipry”, we wanted to do colors reminiscent of a big bull bluegill. Our Stick Jacket fishing rod sleeves keep your rods tangle free. Land something slippery in the boat with you, you’ll be glad you did.
No-doubt, Crawfish have fish catching colors. Made mostly of our brown fiber, we add blaze and neon green to make the twist and a little black & red to finish off our version of craw. If you enjoy fishing with crawfish colors, you will love our “Twisted Craw” Stick Jacket fishing rod sock.
One of our most popular limited edition Stick Jacket fishing rod covers ever, “Bayou Boogie” is a braided mix of complimentary colors including our Neon-Blue, Neon-Green, & Neon-Yellow.
The Original Stick Jacket® fishing rod cover is available in seven popular sizes & 19 designer colors. Our Expand-O-Tech™ braid fits over large line guides and rollers. Try them in your boat, rod locker, storage tube, back of your truck or just walking down to the boat. Be nice to your fishing pole and buy it a jacket.
The Original Stick Jacket & How It All Started
Stick Jackets® are a product of Orin Briant, INC. Established in 2004, Stick Jacket is the original rod cover that taught everyone how to Tame the Tangle™.
2004, company owner Ron Bordwine sold the first Stick Jacket fishing rod covers to local fishing clubs. In the first months of 2005, Stick Jackets made an appearance at several area fishing shows and our first dealer, the Fishing Connection. Now the fun begins.
2005, during the spring & summer months, owner Ron Bordwine traveled door to door calling on every tackle shop he could find in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota & Florida. By the end of the year, Stick Jackets could be found in over 60 retail tackle shops. The first braided sleeve fishing rod sock was making progress.
2006 was even busier. We did many more fishing shows ranging from Green Bay to Dallas. Ron continued door to door trips to the states of TX, AR, IA, MO, MI, AL, TN, KY, GA, SC, FL and finishing up in California. Tackle Warehouse was a big help getting Stick Jacket online as their first.
2007, growth was steady. More fishing shows, Several Elite Pros are using Stick Jacket. Bill Dance gave us a call. We went to our first Bass Master Classic Expo and met our new friend Preston Clark. Sales trips included travel to TX, LA, MS, NC & VA.
2008 was our breakout year. Focus was all on our first ICAST in Las Vegas. Preston Clark introduced us to all the key players in the fishing business. Our hero, Bill Dance spent time with us at the show. Writers from Bass Master, FTR Magazine & others wrote about us and several camera crews did their thing too. Stick Jackets was the hot item.
The journey has been rewarding. Our success is all thanks to our wonderful retail dealers and anglers like you. Special thanks to Christine, Mike, Keith, Tom, Brittany, Bob, Dan , Tommy, Preston, Bill and most of all, Mom.
